What is it about?

Humans are visual beings. We consume everything as images, be it audio, video or any other format, we have a visual in our head for it. Hence, it’s our natural ability to be able to represent our thoughts and stories via images.

The workshop helps one understand, organize and present these thoughts in a more structured and real manner. The hands on session takes you through a journey of self exploration, bringing back the ability to sketch.

It’s a fun and interactive session that one must attend irrespective of their career field and their skill set.

The workshop is divided into 4 Levels, over a period of 4 weeks.

Each level ends with some homework, fun exercises and list of videos and blogs you can refer to for practice purpose. A lot of technical skills you learn here would be available on youtube and other free sources too. But what you won’t find elsewhere is the opportunity to learn with a community, see and get inspired from their work and a peep into the minds of other sketchnoters. Enrolling for this Bootcamp gives you a lifelong access to our community where we will be sharing our progress, assignments and doubts with everyone.

Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4

Level 1:

This session is an introduction to SketchNoting.

We will discuss the basics you need to start practicing SketchNoting in your everyday life.

This includes some technical aspects, along with a kick start into building your own visual library.

Case Study - We will pickup existing sketchnotes from artists around the world and understand the flow and process they use.

The session end with a hands-on practice session so that you can apply what you learnt, and discuss the problems you faced and areas you need to work on. Tasks, Practice sheets and homeworks will be given.

A group discussion will be held mid-week (to be decided by attendees) to discuss the progress, doubts and promote interactive learning.

Level 2:

This session focuses on skill building. With knowledge on layouts, we move to the other components of a sketchnote and get familiar with them. We will expand out visual library and learn about the most interesting part of a sketchnote - metaphors.

Tasks, Practice sheets and home-works will be given.

A group discussion will be held mid-week (to be decided by attendees) to discuss the progress, doubts and promote interactive learning.

Level 3:

This session is all about presentation and application. We will try out more hands on SketchNoting and explore tricks that come handy! We will also learn how to filter content. Tasks, Practice sheets and home-works will be given.

Case Study - We will pickup existing sketchnotes from artists around the world and understand the flow and process they use.

A group discussion will be held after a few days (to be decided by attendees) to discuss the progress, doubts and promote interactive learning.

Level 4:

This session is going to be more about you, your progress and sharing what you learnt. We shall focus on doubt clearing and sharing our tips and tricks with the community.

At the end of the entire 4 week course, you will be able to put your ideas down using sketches, you will have a visual library of your own, and develop a conscious mindfulness that helps you identify and draw what’s in  your mind.

You will be able to process, arrange and present your ideas better, and also communicate with them!

Who is it for?

It’s for anyone who needs to capture ideas and communicate efficiently and effectively. It includes teachers, coaches, students, working professionals, and content creators in any field.

The workshop doesn’t require you to have any particular skill already. Beginners and people who believe “they cannot draw” are most welcome.

See what people have to say about our workshops!

We have a habit of jotting down anything and everything while making notes. We think we will come back and understand it later but we rarely do. The moment Tanvi mentioned the above words (paraphrased) in the introductory session, I was hooked (and convinced that I was at the right place). This was something I had been doing all my life and I sure could some change. Over the course of 3 weeks, I learnt what it meant to filter out your content and take notes that you would want to refer to later. I liked that the course was designed with the primary focus on understanding the concept rather than developing skill set. This ensured that the process of learning doesn't end with the course. The live activities and post session assignments were fun to do and in sync with the subject of discussion. But above all I enjoyed the informal and flexible style of all sessions. This was a brilliant start to sketch noting for me and I can see the effect in my everyday life. I am super glad and grateful to have gotten a chance to be a part of the first bootcamp. Thanks Tanvi :)
